Printed and framed by Christie Melby, Seattle, WA, for her sister and herself as travel memories.

“I had photos printed and framed by Sworl for my sister and myself. Nikki has hers in her sorority room at the University of Oregon. Like me, she’s a Kappa Kappa Gamma, so we’re double sisters!”

travel memories

“My family took a really fun trip to London in early September, which was when my mom took this picture.

“It was my sister’s first time in London, and this was actually taken on our first night there. We’d been to a football match earlier in the day and saw West Ham lose to Southampton. Our dad’s a huge fan of the English Premier League in general so we grew up watching all the games. Then we went to the South Bank for dinner at Wahaca, one of my favorites. I love the whole area because it’s full of character, lively and fun. The riverfront promenade, also called The Queen’s Walk, is lined with white lights. We ended up walking across the Westminster Bridge and back over to Parliament—a very full first day!

“The photo brings back memories of a really fun time. I framed two copies of the photo with Sworl, one for my apartment and one for my sister, who has hers in her house at college.”

Sisters

“This is a picture of my sister Cece and me during the Sasquatch music festival near George, Washington on the Columbia Gorge. I’m on the right. We camped with our friends for the entire Memorial Day weekend and saw a whole bunch of acts including Kid Cudi, Foster the People, and Cage the Elephant. I’m pretty sure this photo was taken by my friend Julia Kuhn during the set by The Naked and the Famous, an LA-based band originally from New Zealand.

“It was the first time at Sasquatch for both of us, and a great excuse to get together. I just graduated from the University of Washington and my sister—she’s two years younger—is at the University of Colorado in Boulder. We love to spend time together, alone or with our family, whenever possible.

“I found out about Sworl from a trade publication. It’s a cool app—the service was great and I was super impressed with the packaging.”

Travel Photo

“Our guide took this picture of my girlfriend Cheri and me while we were on a private Segway tour on a hot summer Sunday in Rome.  We whizzed around to the less photographed side of the Colosseum and he took the shot in panorama mode on my iPhone.  It was a great day, the lighting was good, and this photo turned out to be one of my favorites from the trip. The tour company was Rex-Tours and I’d definitely recommend them.

“I liked the colors and the message… Using Sworl was great—just a few swipes on my phone to get this beautifully framed photo.”

power of love

“I took this photo while visiting friends in New York this fall. Early one morning we were walking uptown to a TV show taping. First we saw Robert Indiana’s recently installed HOPE sculpture, a sibling of his LOVE that I’d seen in Philadelphia.

“Three blocks later, at Sixth Avenue and West 55th Street, there was New York’s own LOVE. I liked the colors and the message—a reminder of how I should treat others. There are now about 40 LOVE sculptures around the world, and the HOPE I saw is the first of several planned.

“I took the picture around 7 a.m., giving me the chance to get the shot without a lot of people in what is usually a very busy intersection. I like that it’s a reminder of how oddly peaceful New York can be at times.

“Since we live far apart, I don’t get to see Madi nearly as often as I’d like to, but I love having this Sworl framed photo of us to look at.”

“Here I am with my youngest sister, Madison. She turned one in January —we’re 25 years apart! My dad remarried and now he and my stepmom have Madi and Angela, who’s three. Madi is quite a funny and feisty little girl and loves to compete with Angela.

“The photo was taken last August at my grandma’s surprise 80th birthday party in my hometown, Payette, Idaho. Madi’s half-Filipino and I’m half-Mexican but there’s a definite family resemblance. We both have one dimple, on different sides, along with our grandma’s chin, so we tried to take a picture that showed those features. We took four or five shots—it’s hard to make a baby hold still—but she was laughing and happy the whole time. Since we live far apart, I don’t get to see Madi nearly as often as I’d like to, but I love having this Sworl framed photo of us to look at.”

“I had several framed copies made. Without Sworl, I would never have sent that gift to everyone—I would have put it off and put it off.  They loved them! Such great reminders of a special time together.”

Frame Vacation Photos

“For the last eight years, my mother, who’s fifth from the left in the photo, has taken my family to Mexico. This year we went to the wonderful Sandos Caracol Eco Resort and Spa on the Mayan Riviera, complete with a recycling and composting program, wild monkeys, and a spay and neuter program for feral cats.

“On each trip, we try to take a group picture. On this very hot day, we were all in the pool together—except for my brother-in-law, who took the photo. You can see how many women are in the family!

“I shared this photo with Liam’s father so he could see our son on his adventure, and he surprised me by having it framed by Sworl.”

“I’m always looking for fun things to do with my four-year-old son. One warm day in May, I took Liam out to Alki Point to rent a kayak for a couple of hours. It was his first experience kayaking and he loved it. I was able to snap this photo of Liam playing around with the paddle while holding it up with one hand as if he was doing a victory lap. I shared this photo with his father so he could see our son on his adventure, and he surprised me by having it framed by Sworl.”

“After the clouds burnt off, Liam and I hung out at Alki Beach for the rest of the day. As we played on the beach we watched other kayakers paddle toward us, which was especially fun since we’d just been out on the water ourselves.”

“WOW OH WOW! Did we hit the jackpot!”

“Thanks for making a lady in Nebraska really happy! We used Sworl for the first time to frame up this picture of our boys Grant and Logan and their cousin Layla on a beach in Maui. Here’s the email we received a few days after placing our order…”

better than a postcard

“WOW OH WOW! Did we hit the jackpot! The picture of the three offspring arrived about an hour ago. It is so very special. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. On Kevin’s Facebook about a week ago I found a picture of these three. He said something about just taking it and having it framed.  I thought he meant taking an actual picture to a frame shop. Of course, what do I know about Sworl? It no doubt is a new hi tech, handheld gadget. Whatever. I will find out more about this when all get together in less than three weeks. YIPPEE! Again, thank you for your kindness in sending this fun picture.

My love, Grandma.”

“Riding down Ravine Lake Road in the family car, I’d look to the high hill on the other side of lake and wonder about the series of huge rooftops I could see above the trees. What could that mysterious building be?”

couple photo ideas

“The place where this picture was taken, near my childhood home in Far Hills, New Jersey, always intrigued me. Riding down Ravine Lake Road in the family car, I’d look to the high hill on the other side of lake and wonder about the series of huge rooftops I could see above the trees. What could that mysterious building be? Then about 15 years ago my husband and I were visiting my hometown and drove that road again. We noticed a stone gateway bearing the name Blairsden. It was falling down and covered with weeds, but I knew it had to lead to the house I’d always wondered about.  Curiosity got the best of us, and we parked the car and walked up the overgrown road to the top of the hill. My first peek at the vast mansion was breathtaking. It appeared empty, but the grass around it was cut and we left pretty quickly!

Looking online this spring, I discovered that Blairsden—once the home of a New York financier—would be open in May as a design showcase fundraiser for Morristown Medical Center. My husband Stephen, my son Stephen and my daughter-in-law Jessmik toured it with me. It was something all four of us were interested in, and we really had fun. We visited 36 rooms in the 60,000-square-foot mansion—and that didn’t even include the top floor.

In this shot, Stephen and Jessmik are standing in front of the football field-long reflecting pool in front of the house. Behind them you catch a glimpse of the entry, and to the left are some of the statues of Roman emperors that line the driveway.”

“When I saw the Sworl app, I jumped on the chance to frame this photo of Stephen and Jessmik. I put it in my living room as a reminder of the wonderful day we finally got to tour my ‘mystery mansion’.”

Printed and framed by Adrian Hanauer, Seattle, Washington, as a reminder of an amazing experience. “The view was truly incredible. So was the feeling of finally being at the top of this giant mountain I’d looked at all my life.”

When you live in Seattle, Mount Rainier is a big deal, a huge and beautiful symbol of the region. On clear days, it makes a majestic background to the city and can be seen from all kinds of viewpoints—including CenturyLink Field, home of the Seattle Sounders!

summit photo

“I’ve wanted to climb Rainier since I was a kid and finally got my chance last summer. With a couple of friends, we made a partial ascent, trained with guides and learned the necessary safety precautions. The next day we woke in the dark and made the race to the summit—more than 14,000 feet high, the second highest in the Lower 48. It was a clear day and the view was truly incredible. So was the feeling of finally being at the top of this giant mountain I’d looked at all my life.”
