Sworl Silver Frame Archive

Will Jackson

Printed and framed by Christie Melby, Seattle, WA, for her sister and herself as travel memories.

“I had photos printed and framed by Sworl for my sister and myself. Nikki has hers in her sorority room at the University of Oregon. Like me, she’s a Kappa Kappa Gamma, so we’re double sisters!”

travel memories

“My family took a really fun trip to London in early September, which was when my mom took this picture.

“It was my sister’s first time in London, and this was actually taken on our first night there. We’d been to a football match earlier in the day and saw West Ham lose to Southampton. Our dad’s a huge fan of the English Premier League in general so we grew up watching all the games. Then we went to the South Bank for dinner at Wahaca, one of my favorites. I love the whole area because it’s full of character, lively and fun. The riverfront promenade, also called The Queen’s Walk, is lined with white lights. We ended up walking across the Westminster Bridge and back over to Parliament—a very full first day!

Printed and framed by Maddie Beck, Seattle, WA, to remind her of a fun festival.

“The photo brings back memories of a really fun time. I framed two copies of the photo with Sworl, one for my apartment and one for my sister, who has hers in her house at college.”

Sisters

“This is a picture of my sister Cece and me during the Sasquatch music festival near George, Washington on the Columbia Gorge. I’m on the right. We camped with our friends for the entire Memorial Day weekend and saw a whole bunch of acts including Kid Cudi, Foster the People, and Cage the Elephant. I’m pretty sure this photo was taken by my friend Julia Kuhn during the set by The Naked and the Famous, an LA-based band originally from New Zealand.

“It was the first time at Sasquatch for both of us, and a great excuse to get together. I just graduated from the University of Washington and my sister—she’s two years younger—is at the University of Colorado in Boulder. We love to spend time together, alone or with our family, whenever possible.

“I took this selfie during one of our daily routines. When I came upon Sworl’s website, I had three photos framed to remember all the happy times with my big white fluff-ball of love.”

“This is a picture of me with my Golden Doodle Josh.  He was nine but you’d have thought he was a puppy. I took this selfie during one of our daily routines. Every morning I’d sit on the steps to put on my shoes and he’d sit beside me with his bottom on the top step and his paws on the next.  He was definitely a poser! When I came upon Sworl’s website, I had three photos framed; one of Josh by the Christmas tree, one of him with my daughter for her room and this one for my bureau to remember all the happy times with my big white fluff-ball of love.”

“I found the Sworl photo framing app in the iTunes app store. I like it because I don’t have a lot of spare time.”

brotherly love

“It was the first nice day after a long, long winter in Minnesota. I took my sons to the park to eat lunch. The boys were so excited to put on shorts and burn off six months of pent-up energy! It was maybe 65 degrees. I told Jack, 7, and Sam, 4, to run around and do whatever they wanted.

“These boys are best friends and worst enemies—they play and fight and argue and then they play and fight some more.

“The floating dock had been pulled out on the side of the lake. The boys ran out to the end and all of a sudden they were sitting still and, in a brief moment of reprieve, hugging it out. I was like, “Ooh, there’s a picture,” and I managed to snap it in time. A minute later, Jack pushed Samuel off the end of the dock—and they were at it again!

“I found the Sworl photo framing app in the iTunes app store. I like it because I don’t have a lot of spare time. I’ve had six or seven photos framed, changing up the sizes and frame colors so they look like a collection created over time.”

“Chase was born on February 10. This was the first time I was able to hold him. He had to be taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for emergency surgery right after he was born, and this was the next day. I was feeling a little nervous and anxious, but obviously very proud and happy to be a father. Holding Chase for the first time was one of the greatest single moments of my life.

“When Chase was 10 weeks old, we found out he had a series of rare congenital heart and pulmonary defects. Two weeks later he had surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and was hospitalized for about six weeks. Our experience at CHOP was excellent. We live about two hours away, but the pediatric surgeon Thomas Spray is considered one of the best in the world for this particular surgery. This photo of us playing was taken a couple of weeks after the surgery. Despite all he’s been through, Chase is one of the happiest kids I’ve ever seen, almost always smiling.

“The third picture was taken about a month ago. Chase is dressed up to watch a Penn State game with my wife and me. (We both went there and met at a tailgate after we graduated.) He definitely understands when football is on. He’s attentive and very alert and knows that we’re excited. Now the big debate is how soon I get to take him to his first game!

“I ordered three prints from Sworl that we hung as a grouping in our living room. I love Sworl and I know I’ll be using it for Christmas presents because it’s just so easy!”

“Taken on a typical summer evening, this photo captures my son Ryder and his attitude. He’s four.  He loves tractors, motorcycles and dump trucks and spending days with his Papaw and Nanny who live nearby. He hates the shirt he’s wearing in the photo because it has purple in it. I’m the one who chose it—to go with the outfit my stepdaughter Madisen was wearing for the photo shoot.

Printed and framed by Bradd Guenser and Kristie Logan, Seattle, WA, as a visual reminder of their wedding.

“Having a few framed shots from that great day was something we missed.” frame wedding photos   “We were married last August on a beautiful evening at The Center for Urban Horticulture. We thought it was great that the very first shot the wedding photographer snapped turned out to be one of our favorites. Like many people these days, we opted just to receive the digital images from our wedding. We’ve never really liked the old-style wedding albums and huge framed pictures. We usually just enjoy seeing the photos on our screen savers or phones. It turned out, though, that having a few framed shots from that great day was something we missed.

“When I found out about Sworl it seemed almost too easy to create framed art from the album I had saved on my phone. I was right—it was super easy. Sworl’s quality, value, packaging, and customer service has been top-notch. Keep up the good work and we’ll keep ordering.”

Next I plan to frame up photos of some of my son Adriaan’s big, 3D cardboard box constructions. They look like modern art but they’re too big to keep and he likes to destroy them.

“My daughter Carlena, five at the time, was working on an art app on her Leap Pad. Ready to move on to her next creation, she was about to delete this one when I said “Hang on, that’s cool!” and took a picture of it with my iPhone. I thought I’d get it printed and it would look really good in her room. Then a friend told me about Sworl and I thought, what a great idea to frame art right away from my phone. It turned out really well. Next I plan to frame up photos of some of my son Adriaan’s big, 3D cardboard box constructions. They look like modern art but they’re too big to keep and he likes to destroy them.

“You want your sons to be best friends—sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t—but in this picture my older two are definitely getting along. The redhead, Jack, about two-and-a-half here, is ‘reading’ to his little brother, who’s about six months old. Of course he can’t really read—my wife propped up a book in our bed for them to look at. This photo’s old now, but I like that it gives a sense of their personalities—Charlie happy, smiling and social and Jack a little more reserved and mischievous.”
