Printed and framed by Will Jackson of Seattle as a gift to his Aunt June in Virginia.

“My mom always said ‘to have a friend, be one’- A few years ago, I took this picture that really shows their love for each other.”

“My mom always said ‘to have a friend, be one.’ She met June at a party in Richmond, Virginia in 1949—June was in tears with morning sickness and Mom, also pregnant, came to her aid—and they stayed best friends until Mom died a year and half ago. Although June soon moved to New Jersey, then Maryland and finally back to coastal Virginia, she and Mom visited often, vacationed together, and stayed close through thick and thin for 64 years.

They consoled each other during tough times, loved parties, (the wilder the better – at a mid-‘60s beach bash, they swapped dresses to confuse one of June’s beaus) and were ultimate shopping buddies. Most of all they made each other laugh.

A few years ago, I took this picture that really shows their love for each other.”Sending gifts

“I discovered Sworl through my Facebook feed and immediately thought it was a brilliant idea, the perfect solution to the usual hassle of getting pictures framed. It took me two minutes to order these beautiful framed prints.”

“Chase was born on February 10. This was the first time I was able to hold him. He had to be taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for emergency surgery right after he was born, and this was the next day. I was feeling a little nervous and anxious, but obviously very proud and happy to be a father. Holding Chase for the first time was one of the greatest single moments of my life.

“When Chase was 10 weeks old, we found out he had a series of rare congenital heart and pulmonary defects. Two weeks later he had surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and was hospitalized for about six weeks. Our experience at CHOP was excellent. We live about two hours away, but the pediatric surgeon Thomas Spray is considered one of the best in the world for this particular surgery. This photo of us playing was taken a couple of weeks after the surgery. Despite all he’s been through, Chase is one of the happiest kids I’ve ever seen, almost always smiling.

“The third picture was taken about a month ago. Chase is dressed up to watch a Penn State game with my wife and me. (We both went there and met at a tailgate after we graduated.) He definitely understands when football is on. He’s attentive and very alert and knows that we’re excited. Now the big debate is how soon I get to take him to his first game!

This birthday photo was printed and framed by Marion Richards, Seattle, WA, to hang in her home.

“I have it hanging on our stairway, and also as the screensaver on my phone. James loves it—and he still often plays with those toys!”

birthday photos

“I took this photo of my son James on his fourth birthday last September. It was in the morning…he’d just opened his presents and these were his two favorites. The Spiderman car his big sister chose for him—Ruby was six—and the bulldozer was from his grandparents in South Africa.  He was lying on the couch playing with them and I snapped the picture. Later, I framed this, my favorite of his birthday photos, with Sworl.”

“My husband usually takes the best pictures so I was pretty pleased to catch this one. I took it in our living room where there’s a lot of natural light. Now I have it hanging on our stairway, and also as the screensaver on my phone. James loves it—and he still often plays with those toys!”

“We took this photo for a blog we made to invite people to our daughter Clare’s Bat Mitzvah. Clare decided that instead of getting gifts, she’d rather have people donate to Girl Rising, an organization that supports education for girls worldwide, especially in places where it’s not typically common or possible.  In the “Girl Rising” movie and on the website, many girls are shown with these words written on their hands.

“Clare recognized a need, and the fact that she has everything she needs. This is who she is and what she does. Most people loved the idea, and it became an instance of a community coming together and giving in a meaningful way.

“For Clare, it was also about rising as an adult in our religion and showing that she’d educated herself to the place where she’s worthy of being considered an adult. Clare attends Seattle Girls’ School, which has definitely helped her develop her intellect and worldview. She’s a strong individual who loves soccer, math and constitutional law and aspires to be president someday.”

“I have been trying to cross this framing project off my to-do list for a year. It’s finally done! Sworl is really easy to use—I especially love paying with a scan of my credit card so I don’t have to type in the number.”

“I had a picture of my grandparents on the upper right of the wall—William and Virginia Davis—and I wanted to add some photos of other family members. I had digital files that my sister had scanned and so I started with my mom, Theresa Marie Davis and dad, Robert Anthony Wilkins on their wedding day. They’re each on the left of the photos, while the bridesmaid and best man are on the right. That was 1968. I was born the next year. At the upper left is a picture of my grandfather’s parents William and Edna Davis around 1940.”

“Taken on a typical summer evening, this photo captures my son Ryder and his attitude. He’s four.  He loves tractors, motorcycles and dump trucks and spending days with his Papaw and Nanny who live nearby. He hates the shirt he’s wearing in the photo because it has purple in it. I’m the one who chose it—to go with the outfit my stepdaughter Madisen was wearing for the photo shoot.

Printed and framed by Bradd Guenser and Kristie Logan, Seattle, WA, as a visual reminder of their wedding.

“Having a few framed shots from that great day was something we missed.” frame wedding photos   “We were married last August on a beautiful evening at The Center for Urban Horticulture. We thought it was great that the very first shot the wedding photographer snapped turned out to be one of our favorites. Like many people these days, we opted just to receive the digital images from our wedding. We’ve never really liked the old-style wedding albums and huge framed pictures. We usually just enjoy seeing the photos on our screen savers or phones. It turned out, though, that having a few framed shots from that great day was something we missed.

“When I found out about Sworl it seemed almost too easy to create framed art from the album I had saved on my phone. I was right—it was super easy. Sworl’s quality, value, packaging, and customer service has been top-notch. Keep up the good work and we’ll keep ordering.”
